“King’s Landing is located directly on the pristine waters of Rocks Springs Run, one of three main tributaries that feeds the Wekiva River Basin, a designated National Wild and Scenic River.” at https://www.kingslandingfl.com/
At the end of January, we booked a 2 hour guided tour for $59 per person in see-through kayaks at https://getupandgokayaking.com/rock-springs/. To be honest, I didn’t think the see-through kayaks were worth the extra $10 compared to the kayak tour booked directly from the King’s Landing website. That’s because the water was so clear that I didn’t end up looking down through the kayak much. The surrounding trees and blue sky were a site to behold.
We booked the earliest time slot and since it was a bit chilly for Florida standards and the fact that the water was much warmer than the surrounding air, there was fog emitting from water. It made for a really cool ambience while we were paddling.
The first half of the tour is paddling upstream against the current so it’s definitely a bit of a workout! My shoulders were burning after. But once we reached the end and turned around, we could basically float back to the launch point, relaxing and resting as we went. With no shortage of wildfire, you will be able to see birds, turtles, deer and even alligators.
Our tour guide was great! She was knowledgeable and had great positive energy. She always had a smile on her face. I would highly recommend this tour but without the clear kayaks.
